Cody Danks Burke is a Strategic Advisor at Velocis, where he supports management in various capacities, including investment strategy, corporate policy, and general partner best practices. Danks Burke also serves as a faculty member at Cornell University. Prior to joining Velocis, Danks Burke spent 14 years in Cornell’s Investment Office where he served as Senior Investment Officer and Head of Real Assets for the endowment. Previously, Danks Burke was an investment analyst at the Partnership Fund for New York City and had roles at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the U.S. House of Representatives.
Danks Burke holds an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Lauren Gielincki is a Senior Associate at Velocis, where she is responsible for assisting management with financial analysis, portfolio management, and capital market activities. Prior to joining Velocis, Gielincki served as an Investment Banking Credit Associate at J.P. Morgan in the Real Estate, Gaming & Lodging Investment Banking sector, where she performed financial underwriting and due diligence of complex financing solutions for investment and non-investment grade corporate companies, as well as direct real estate level financing.
Gielincki graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Business with a BS in Finance.
Fred Hamm brings more than 35 years of experience in investment consulting, wealth management, and commercial real estate to Velocis. He serves on the Investment Committee and as Fund Manager, where he is responsible for legal, compliance, administration, and investor services. Prior to forming Velocis, Hamm was an executive officer at Keystone Group, where he managed clients’ cash, equity, and real estate assets. With more than 20 years of experience as a private wealth manager and investment consultant, he has spent the majority of his career serving high-net-worth individuals and private investors with a focus on conservative, long-term portfolio growth.
Hamm holds an MBA from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mike Lewis has more than 35 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. At Velocis, he serves on the Investment Committee and plays a key role in sourcing investments and unlocking value across the firm’s portfolio. Prior to joining Velocis, Lewis served as Managing Director and as a member of the Management and Executive Committees at Crescent Real Estate Equities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley. At Crescent, he was responsible for more than 43 million square feet of office, medical office, retail, residential, and hotel assets valued at approximately $6.5 billion across major U.S. markets. During his tenure, Lewis and his team also disposed of more than $2.0 billion in assets.
Lewis holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Madi McCoy is an Associate at Velocis, where she supports investor relations and the firm’s CRM database. She supports investor communications, fundraising and ongoing investor reporting. Prior to joining Velocis, McCoy worked at Comerica Bank, most recently as an Investor Relations Liaison. She previously served as a Business Banking Relationship Manager and Commercial Banking Credit Analyst, gaining broad experience across banking, credit, and client-facing roles.
McCoy holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BBA in Finance and Marketing from Baylor University.
Max Scherer is a Senior Associate at Velocis, where he supports the firm’s industrial developments with a focus on development underwriting, due diligence and closing, asset management, and dispositions. Prior to joining Velocis, Scherer served as a Development Associate at Dalfen Industrial, where he was involved in project management, due diligence, and financial analysis and reporting.
Scherer holds a Master of Real Estate from Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School and a BBA in Finance from the University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business.
Karun Someshwar is a Vice President at Velocis, where he is responsible for supporting management in the processes of underwriting and analyzing potential real estate investments, with a primary focus in the firm’s real estate secondaries strategy. Prior to joining Velocis, Someshwar served as a senior underwriting analyst at The Beneficient Company Group, where he was primarily focused on underwriting GP-led and LP-led secondary fund interests totaling approximately $1.0 billion in NAV across various private capital strategies, including buyout, growth, real estate, and venture. Prior to Beneficient, Someshwar worked as an audit associate at KPMG in their asset management practice servicing their large private equity clients in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Someshwar holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas.
Justin Wall is a Vice President at Velocis, where he actively works on all of the firm’s development opportunities with a focus on development underwriting, due diligence and closing, asset management, and dispositions. Prior to joining Velocis, Wall served as a Senior Analyst at MetLife Investment Management in the real estate acquisitions and joint ventures group. At MetLife, he sourced, analyzed, and presented investment opportunities across all major property types, including industrial, multifamily, office, retail, hospitality, life science, self-storage, and single-family rentals. Prior to MetLife, Wall worked at The Retail Connection as a Development Associate.
Wall holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business and a BBA in Accounting and Finance from Dallas Baptist University.
